Hunter/Game follow a string of successful 12"s with a fully formed long player showcasing both sides of the duo's sound. Blending elements of deep house with big room techno and a penchant for slick sound design, Adapation starts off on a rolling breakbeat tip with Intro (Walking Unobserved) proving that this isn't a double pack for the DJ's but a fully formed LP that can be deployed for home listening. Saying that though, there are some bangers to be found, from the big room tech-house of Declino to the more inward looking The Path. Using the full length format to explore new avenues of style and sound they give a faint glance to dubstep with Origins while Silver blends euphoric house with more electronica textures. Adaption perfectly fits into the Kompakt world, expertly crafted house and techno for big room DJ's but with an undercurrent that keeps its eyes on more underground sounds.
