Touch unveils a stunning live LP from admired Austrian guitarist Fennesz, recorded live in the artist’s homeland at the RadioKulturhaus in Vienna. Mahler Remixed draws inspiration and sample material from the revered late-Romanic Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, with Fennesz carefully handling the composer’s timeless symphonic material and reimagining as shimmering plains of textured drone, imposing walls of sound and pensive moments of string plucked melody. Suffice to say it’s a bracing, mind-blowing experience, vital for followers of Tim Hecker, Ben Frost and Keith Fullerton Whitman.
