Joey LaBeija has long been known in New York's underground as a DJ and producer of broken-n’-funky, club music, and member of the (vogue house) crew, House of LaBeija. Affiliated with friends and collaborators like Bbymutha and LSDXOXO, as a DJ his sets peak along the lines of ballroom to reggaeton to edits from forward-thinking club producers like Lotic and Rabit. This is his debut 12”, apparently shaped as an imaginary OST, inspired by the fragmentary-future-pop of Bjork’s Homogenic and the sweat-riddled grooves of the Vogue scene. A highly promising first foray in wax.
