The superb Cloudland Canyon kick up a Krautrock inspired storm on this new album on Kranky. From the type of spacey but driven fusion of analogue electronics and feedbacking washes of guitars, completed by metronomic drumming, the occasional hippy chanting and effects, you'd be forgiven these were the children of Ralf and Florian, especially with titles like Krautwerk, and Auf Wiedersehen!, but even though influences are worn firmly on sleeves, there are more modern things going on here, deep string drones, looping ambience and old drum machines especially on the gorgeous ' You and I' and shoegazing harmonies amongst the general psychedelic sun filled bliss! Very Satisfying!
