Gajek has long been a favourite around these parts, his last LP Restless Shapes got heavy rotation here and we take great pleasure in saying that this follow up does not disappoint. Starting off with a hefty wall of noise and grind mechanics thing soon take a swerve left into an OPN style backwash of scattered drum samples and electro contortions before dropping into New Engineering which could be a 2015 and everything since update of Peverelist's Roll With The Punches. Gajek uses Bastard to explore an array of ideas to great effect from nail biting psychedelic techno on Damokles to Detroit Esculator Co. ambient electronica on Precise Pleasure. The entire LP is a startling listen that will keep you hooked from start to finish and wears its classic Warp influence on its sleeve but carries off its own unique style that sketches out new and vast plains of sound to explore through each track.
