Well this has completely caught us off guard! Richie Hawtin going back in time into another dimension (intrusion) and knocking out an entire LP's worth of classic Plastik rooted acid techno. Aptly named in reference to the seminal Plus 8 comp from 91' From Our Minds To Yours Vol. 1 which along with Warp's AI series (for which Hawtin was a part of under the F.U.S.E. alias that is revisited here) was a crucial component in the post-rave culture of getting in and sticking on some deeply hypnotic, ambient rooted techno to unwind your mind after a heavy night caning a week's supply of serotonin. Having teased this release with a few untitled/unknown artist 12"s that appeared and disappeared in a flash in Berlin over the past two months we are hugely excited to unveil all the tracks are now available in this comp. This is the sound of the original Plastikman, 303 laced tracks that Hawtin wove into his most seminal releases by using the simple elements of a kick drum, a snare with some echo and bassline he has managed to craft out some of the most unique techno you are ever likely to hear. And while it may have its roots in the avant garde, it's still floor focused and will do the damage wherever it is deployed; be it a dank basement club, a high gloss Ibiza nightclub or your iPod on the way to work. A proper back to basics work out and perhaps a means of going back in the hope of finding a better way forward or perhaps just a timely reminder that even after 20 years in the game he can still smash out bangers like the best of them, an absolute no brainer this one - about as essential as they come.
