Edgar Froese was Tangerine Dream’s founder, and the band’s sole constant member throughout the nearly 50 years that they were operational. After his death aged 70 in January 2015, his widow Bianca Forese-Acquaye set to work compiling an album containing some of Tangerine Dream’s best work. The 10 tracks that feature on Out Of This World understandably only scratch the surface of the band’s exhaustive discography, but the selections resonate for the connection that Bianca Forese-Acquaye has to them personally. Originally released on CD, this new vinyl pressing offers a starting point for Tangerine Dream newcomers, while offering veterans something new in the form of previously unreleased track ‘Ganymede’s Kiss’.
