Lutto Lento finishes up a perfect year (massive releases on From The Depths and Where To Now?) with this 12” on newish label Proto Sites. Perhaps the first material to have graced Bleep’s pages with a Dido sample(!), Dog Leaf plays wonderful havoc with post-Opal Tapes house music (all distorted kicks and wonky, off-grid signatures) and mischievous use of the sampler. Alongside the twisted Dido sample he screws various shades of jazz-wise vibrations, Christmas music, and disconcerting telephonic conversations into a heady brew of poisoned, wyrd dance music for the left-field floors.
