Finders Keepers reissue a very rare, very sought-after album from Masahiko Sato. The album is a psychedelic jazz score for Belladonna of Sadness, a feature-length witchcraft anime released in 1973 that merged the occult with the sexual and the political. Although the film has received a global cult following and plenty of DVD re-releases, the soundtrack has been less well-served, but this first official reissue comes with the blessing of Sato himself. Many of the tracks were written and sung by Sato’s wife, Chinatsu Nakayama, including the song ‘TBSF’, which never appeared in the theatrical cut of the film.
