jennylee is the solo project of Warpaint bassist Jenny Lee Lindberg. Her debut album right on! (the lower case is intentional) incorporates elements of post-punk and goth rock into her hazy and textural style of songwriting. Bands like The Cure and the Banshees are evoked on ‘never’ and ‘bully’ respectively, but Lindberg’s distinctive basslines and vocal stylings ensure that the songs on right on! never veer too closely to pure pastiche.
