In recent years Los Angeles producer Magic Touch has been crafting dreamy, hiss-soaked house music for labels like 100% Silk and True Romance for the left-centre floors and cassette heads. Here, he adopts the Damon Eliza Plaerma moniker for an album of narcotic, fogged-out ambient. Heavily inspired by 1980s New Age tapes, Clouds of David nevertheless brings something original to this most-saturated of renaissance genres. Imagine listening to Boards Of Canada and The Orb at 20,000 feet; weightless, carefree.
