Hox are Swedish ambient artist Andreas Karperyd and Wire bassist Graham Lewis. Duke of York, Hox’s second album, arrives via Editions Mego a cool 16 years on from their 1999 debut It-Ness. It’s an electronic pop record with contemporary influences (think Ultravox doing IDM), where brooding studio sonics, dramatic vocal stylings, and paranoid lyricism contribute to a charming yet very understated listen.
