Since launching in 2004, contemporary classical label Nonclassical have made remixes a central tenet of their releases. The Art of Remix collects a handful of the remixes that have been issued by the label over the years, including some big names like Warp’s Tim Exile and a certain Thom Yorke. Nonclassical set a house rule for remixers – the only sounds they’re allowed to use should come from the master recordings, meaning they aren’t allowed to use their own beats or samples – resulting in some resourceful and interesting remixes across the disc.
