Flying the flag for the new wave grime scene, the London club night finally commit some trax to wax with Boxed001 ran by scene figureheads Slackk, Mr. Mitch, Oil Gang and Logos. The night's moved from its OG start up in basement clubs around LDN to hosting rooms at Fabric and beyond, so its the perfect conclusion for them to move into label territory. Boxed001 is a fist-full of dollas in the truest sense, opener Forest Walk by Slackk & Dullah Beatz is a peak-time instro-grime banger, it's got all the trademark Slackk styles but has an off-kilter edge that will catch ya off guard. Second in line is some darkside mentasm from Lloyd SB which is somewhere between Anaconda-era Untold and early 90's Beltram. Rinse FM don Geeneus steps up for track three with a killer reworking from Trends, rapidfire snares and a bubbling bass carry the track through to Spokes electronica style roller. Proper diverse EP that truly shows off the different styles and sounds being explored in the scene, a stone cold classic in the making this one - a no brainer for anyone facing the club.
