Toronto resident Stuart Li issues his second album as Basic Soul Unit via Amsterdam’s Dekmantel label. Under The Same Sky features 10 rugged house tracks defined by cavernous drums, industrial textures, and Detroit-esque melodies. The tracks all sound incredible, with the right amount of grit and sub bass to set dancefloors alight, but Li is too experienced a producer to rely solely on sound design, and the tracks are packed with distinctive hooks and subtle melodies.
