Morgan Geist releases his first solo EP in seven years, Megaprojects One. The NYC based producer best known for being part of Metro Arena turned his attention to the unmistakable sounds of midwest dance music for this EP. It’s a world he explored in the 1990s and – this time round – a sound he paired up with an interesting conceptual crux. While “megaprojects” are defined by colossal budgets and huge facilities, Geist put these four cuts together on low-rate drum machines and tinny synths. It’s a fascinating juxtaposition that only adds to the fun that can be had with these tracks.
