Heavyweight BBE styles for October rains as Rim Kwaku Obeng and Kasa / Rim Kwaku Obeng and The Believers take to double vinyl for the first since BBE did the righteous thing and reissued their key 1980s release Rim Arrives. The collection here takes Too Tough, a superb three track EP from 1982, on Sum-Sum Records, was credited to Rim and Kasa, and the cracking 12” I’m Not Going To Let You Go as Rim And The Believers for Harmony Records arrived the following year. The six slabs here hum with the West Coast African sound plugged into Studio 54 by way of Kingston, Jamaica and Dusseldorf, Germany (the synth sounds!). Incredible title this, get down…
