Not Waving's Ecstatic imprint gives Pye Corner Audio's long out of print Zones tape a much needed vinyl edition, squelchy braindance style electronica for the masses!

Not much PR info about this mysterious new ferric compound, but it doesn’t take great levels of Colombo detective work to ascertain who’s at play here. The label Ecstatic is former Walls’ people Sam Willis and Alessio Natalizia (also Not Waving) brainchild. The name ‘Head Technician’ is something that electronic producer Pye Corner Audio (Type, Ghost Box) likes to call himself. The release, Intercepts was a split 12” between Pye Corner Audio and Not Waving. Zones, then, is a tougher, beat-ier version of PCA’s eldritch electronica: pulsing 4/4 rhythms, disco bass lines, widescreen Italo cosmic lines prevail made on the Roland TR-606, MC-202 and TB-303, inspired by the Detroit Gods. Regardless of who this is, it’s great.
