Having first heard his name in 2010 when Mark Fell produced the Acids In The Style of Rian Treanor series, northern UK-based producer Rian Treanor debuts on The Death of Rave with a collection of pristine, experimental electronic tracks. It’s a collision of intricate, 150bpm drum patterns, whip-cracking rhythms, and brief melodic turns. You might pick up on shades of Detroit techno and 2-step echoing around the release, and there are comparisons to be made to RP Boo and NHK’Koyxen, but really this is a refreshingly unique and rarely referential listen from a very exciting new artist.
