Hemlock Recordings offshoot ORO follows up limited edition USB releases from label boss Untold and from Lord Skywave with their first ever vinyl release. Brian Routh is a feted performance artist, singer, and poet from County Durham who has been active since the 1970s, working with Public Image Ltd, Genesis P. Orridge, and Henry Rollins over the decades. The You Can’t Be Me EP is a set of stream-of-consciousness verbal outpourings (usually evocative stray single words or slogan-esque phrases) set against coarse electronic sounds and rugged body-moving rhythms that give an insight into how Routh processes the chaotic world around him.
