Texture Like Sun
One-Handed Music
Catalogue Number
Release Date
October 30, 2015

The excellent One Handed Music deliver us the good stuff again with this second full length from genre-splitting beat-herder , Anglo-Mauritian producer, percussionist and singer, Mo Colours. His 2014 self-titled debut was a great thing, revelling in hazy sampledelia, taut post-Dilla rhythms, and an innate soulfulness. Texture Like Sun follows similar loop-patterns but this time focuses heavily on Mo Kolours’ own buttery vocal, slipping and sliding and skanking in a framework that nods to West African music, Philly Soul, U.S Jazz and Mongolian Folk Music, apparently. Oh and The Stranglers’ “Golden Brown”. Stellar sunshine grooves to brighten moods…
