If you like your techno noisy and broken then Broken Call have got you covered. Their new Combo Skin EP brings together five artists and showcases their individual approaches to dance music – all differing in style, yet unified by their grittiness. P.O.I.’s ‘Rip & Dip’ is a relatively straight-ahead track, an airy piece of club fodder, but elsewhere there’s the sound of post-industrial decay (Rosemary Arp’s ‘Spearheading’), a chainsaw driller (Mondkopf’s ‘Need To Control’), and glitchy, metallic noise rock (The Wet Taxis’ ‘Cerebral Damage’).
