The second instalment from Ultimate Hits makes way for a solo outing of NYC techno jokester Max McFerren. Operating under his alternative moniker McFerrdog amongst various artists on Ultimate Hits Vol. 1 technically make ‘I’m back’ the producer’s second appearance on the label. These four to the floor house wreckers continue in the functional fashion of 'With You On My Side', while traces of the playful elements that define his previous releases for Vancouver cassette label 1080p remain: the title track works with dry percussion over which a programmatic vocal sample stutters out UK references. The hardware aesthetic is what characterises the EP — from the squelching and squeaking synth of ‘Bio Pic Sessions’ and ‘RAW V’ to the sticky rhythms of ‘My Best Friend Tho’.
