Livity Sound's Asusu drops a solid three tracker of bass heavy techno mutations on Impasse. This stuff is living proof of the age-old adage, “You can take the man out of Livity Sound, but you can’t Livity Sound out of the man”. Trephine (which is a surgical saw used on tissues and bones), races towards the 7-minute mark with deep grooves and a weightless synth refrain gliding across the bassy mainframe. Dualism shows off a more ambient side of Asusu’s repertoire, 8 minutes of writhing soundscapes and organic textures. The release is rounded off by M39 – another experimental number further showcasing the breadth of this producer’s capabilities.
