Lobster Theremin sister-label Mörk serve up a second 12” of lysergic dream-techno fuzz from Moodcut. Mörk was minted as means to herald ‘a darker, murkier and deeper sound and for championing newcomers’ and with Heartbeat Takeaway they do just that. Following a killer release on the Nous label (replete with Moon B remix), Moodcut returns with five tracks of fugged-out, hazy techno abstractions; all muffled, sub-aquatic kickdrums, pressure-chamber house motifs and deep, glacial ambient textures. Big tip for followers of the Where To Now! nexus, Opal Tapes’ more-horizontal dreams, Going Good’s lo-fidelity grooves, and the forest-techno gloom of Mr Wolfgang Voight’s GAS work.
