Scandinavian master Randy Barracuda, a pioneering figure in the Skweee movement, releases a new set of analogue funk tracks. After having notched up some 25 vinyl releases and toured the world, Barracuda still has plenty of ideas up his sleeves. The Akephalos EP opens with a mutant Zapp-style cover of Devo’s leftfield classic ‘Mongoloid’, before dropping into the weirdo grooves of ‘Akephalos II’, the old school HudMo-isms of ‘Mayonnaise Sutra’, and the hectic glitchtronica of ‘Rotterdam’.
