The material of world-famous minimalist composer Philip Glass has been subject to a number of stunning interpretations and remixes over the years —take 2012’s Rework featuring Nosaj Thing, Amon Tobin and Pantha Du Prince for example – or the versions of classical pianist Bruce Brubaker, released by French label InFiné in 2015. The imprint has commissioned a number of remixes for those interpretations that are just as compelling: the bill is comprised of Warp duo Plaid, Akufen, Veteran Michigan producer John Beltran, InFiné newcomer Julian Earle and Biblo as well as Luxembourgian composer Francesco Tristano. The latter sparked the entire project with his organic dance rework (‘Knee For Thought’) which he based on Brubaker’s interpretation of Glass’ Einstein On The Beach. Whereas Earle transforms the glistening rapid piano passages of ‘Mad Rush’ into an uptempo house number, Plaid impose a rather slurping beat on the gentle patterns of ‘Metarmorphosis 5’.
