Having established a vibrant sound across multiple club 12”s for Kompakt, Barcelona-based Canadian duo Blond:ish release a debut album that makes a major departure from the dancefloor. Instead, Welcome To The Present takes the spiritual and psychedelic influences that were always buried deep in their tech house tracks and amplifies them, bringing them to the fore. It takes four tracks to hear a proper club beat on Welcome To The Present, with Blond:ish instead focusing on their ambient moods, organic instrumentation, and textural production, resulting in an album with a very warm, very earthly feel.
