Jamal Moss’ recent renaissance (should that be long-overdue recognition?) sees no sign of stopping as he returns to his long-known Hieroglyphic Being moniker with The Acid Documents – a collection of music that first appeared on a short run of homemade CD-Rs sold exclusively at London’s Sounds Of The Universe store last year. This is Moss at the peak of his machine mastery, willing and able to coax science fiction stories from a collection of no-fi hardware. If there’s a running theme it’s the 303 - acid worms squirm and pulse in a network of EBM drums, Chi-Town motorik rhythm and flipped IDM intricacies. Big tip for the Moss devotees as ever, but should also tickle the AFX in you.
