Ukranian-born, Rotterdam-based producer Antenna drops some raw but expressive dance tracks for Clone’s Royal Oak series. Title track ‘New Life’ is perhaps the most straightforward cut on here, a direct synthesis of Detroit and British techno influences. The other tracks express a more melancholic streak: ‘Lake X’ explores emotional deep house with Larry Heard-esque results, while ‘Happy Dance’ straddles the line between blues and bliss in a way that many producers attempt to, and fail to hit.
