Japanese producer Takuya Matsumoto first came to most ears with his killer 12” for Clone affiliate Royal Oak (Ekr’s Galactic Dance, 2014) which he shortly followed up with a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it 12” for London based imprint Meda Fury (supported by R&S). He’s back on that label for another exploration in pristine house music, painted in hyper-melody. It’s clear Matsumoto has a way with synthesis. His tones are liquid, bright and colourful, drawn against a rhythm core that nods to countrymen like Soichi Terada, the Reese bass punch of Saunderson and the Chicago tradition or the free jazz-flourish of Parrish and (Floating) Points. One. To. Watch. Be. Quick. etc.

  1. 1 Be 6:26
  2. 2 On The March 5:33
  3. 3 Rain Flower 2:55
  4. 4 Trash Track 3:42
  5. 5 An Oriental Tale 5:10
  6. 6 Vanishing In The Sand 7:25
