Unlike the Houston rapper of a similar name, Tlim Shug is a dude who records lo-fi, straight-to-tape house jams. Surf Dude, Shug’s debut EP, comes out on Greek label Echovolt (whose early links with L.I.E.S. led to releases from Ron Morelli, Steve Summers, and Entro Senestre on the label) and features grainy and atmospheric club cuts like ‘Doorwave’ and ‘Conga Jam’ alongside more abstract cuts like the Actress/patten-ish ‘Untitled’.
