Bristol heavyweight Batu continues to refine his sound, this time with a solid debut outing on Beneath’s blossoming Mistry imprint. First up, ‘Dekalb’ creeps in ominously, underpinning spatial bass judders with a blanket of spewing cyborg hiss. Yet it’s on ‘Collate’ where the producer shines brightest; conjuring the darkest tribal swing from the blown-out toms and bellowing sub-bass to really exorcise the demons.
