Glasgow veteran Dave Clark continues the revival of his well-respected Sparky alias with another vital release for Scottish institution Numbers. The Signals EP is his latest outing since the incredible Portland double pack and again sees the Scotsman in fine form; first with the searing synth swathes, buoyant bass line and tight percussion of the title track, which will more than get the job done on the ‘floor. Flipside cut ‘Tigress’ is a different beast altogether, here laying down a barbed, angry loop that sits somewhere between the sweetspots of techno, electro and industrial styles. This one was apparently clawed from the notoriously tight grip of Sparky by the Numbers crew, lets hope there’s more yet.
