One doesn’t have to look too far to work out who the artist at play is here. Jamal Moss, aka Hieroglyphic Being, emblazoned on the sleeve, should be instantly recognisable to the heads; an instant stamp of approval. I.B.M stands for Insane Black Man and has been one of many long-running Moss monikers. Here Moss has unearthed tracks from a 10 year recording period –newly mastered from minidisc- to create his newest collection, From The Land Of Rape And Honey (The Suppressed Tapes) 1995-2005, a record which mangles tribal-industrial machinations with muscular EBM rhythm and Ron Hardy 4/4 in the damaged, hiss ravaged style that Moss has become (in)famous for.
