This compilation of recordings by Kiddus I shines a light on a previously little-known figure in roots reggae music. Best known for his appearance in legendary 1978 reggae film ‘Rockers’, Kiddus I was a fixture of The Wailers and Lee Perry’s Black Ark studio during the 1970s. The compilation, the first of three albums that aim to bring the majority of his recordings to light, rounds up every single that Kiddus I recorded at Black Ark between 1978 and 1980, as well as some unreleased cuts recorded at Tuff Gong. The tracks feature some of the most accomplished musicians and technicians from the roots reggae era.
