Solid double-A 12” from German techno head Lorenz Brunner aka Recondite (work on Ghostly International, Hotflush, Life and Death) released in anticipation of his full length Placid, to land in October (Brunner also has his important On Acid LP being reissued via Acid Test in September). ‘Limber’ kicks things off in typically stern, and dreamy 4/4 fashion ; all gentle pitch-bends and analogue feeling, before ‘Undulate’ wraps us up in some vintage Roland AFX moods. Exciting things happen on the flip where Dial boss Lawrence takes ‘Undulate’ and strips it down two-ways, highlight coming with the remix – a chugging brace of fizzing hats and acid gurgles.
