Suzi Ecto, Call Super’s debut album for Houndstooth, saw the Berlin-based producer blend warm house grooves with hypnotic techno shapes – with very strong results. On ‘Migrant’ and ‘Meltintu’, a new two-track release and Call Super’s second blast of new music since Suzi Ecto (he sold out a 12" for Nous early in 2015), he shoots a little closer to the dancefloor while always keeping a lock on the unique character his album. ‘Migrant’ is deep but surprisingly jaunty, with bongo drums helping to lead its rhythm. ‘Meltintu’ is a mesmerising dance cut that seems to never quite settle.
