Recorded in the dark hours of a West Coast winter, Christmas Lights Through a Rain-Streaked Migraine finds Malkin playing inside a warm blanket of organic instruments and ambient fx pushing sound into abstract time signature and space (bolstered by glorious tenor sax from Brian Allen Simon) to create four pieces of music that feels like little else.
