Vancouver BC, born, New York originated deep-house-pop duo Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance are collectively known as Bob Moses. They recently signed up to Domino. Here is their debut LP. Already catching the attention of an RA Breaking Through feature, Bob Moses deal in a kind of late-sun-blessed, hazy house music for early Autumn, ripe for crossover into clubs and bedrooms. Their down-home, bluesy Bobby Bland cover of ‘I Ain't Gonna Be The First To Cry’ is something of a red herring as the rest of the record takes us down chugging DFA disco, Italians Do It Better sleaze and widescreen yacht rock pushed through the Ableton grid.
