Vienna multi-instrumentalist Sixtus Preiss returns with fresh and funky material on local label Affine Records: his single ‘Lololo’ comes in two versions, sounding Los Angeles and displaying both his skills as a composer and performer. The melody of the digital electric guitar runs against the original’s course, its grooving beat dominated by thick, sticky synths – the affair only gets smoother in the jazzy band edition of the track with Sixtus Preiss himself taking over the Fender Rhodes keys and additional support coming from the Jazz Werkstatt Wien collective: Lukas Koenig on drums Manu Mayr on bass and Peter Rom on guitar.
