A Lot Of Sorrow isn’t exactly a new release from The National: instead, it’s an absurd artifact that documents a very specific performance from the American indie rock stalwarts. Clocking in at six hours and five minutes and spread over nine clear vinyl records, A Lot Of Sorrow was recorded live at MoMA PS1 in New York City as part of a special concert that saw The National play their 2010 song ‘Sorrow’ over and over and over (and over) for the duration of the show. In total, there are 105 different takes of the song to get through here.
