Teeth and Desto present a debut release from Fang Lilies on their Helsinki-based Signal Life imprint with the Chameleon Crystals Vol 1 EP. Throughout the release, Fang Lilies juxtaposes tough, bass-heavy structures against lucid, crystalline melodies; leading off with the stuttering bass-quakes of ‘Echelon’, chased by the glassy glimmers and steel drum quips of ‘Atmospheric Ocean’. Flipping over, ‘BK Stomp’ is possibly the most suited to the ‘floor, brewing up a ruddy swing from tight, nimble production, whereas the dreamy, halcyon haze of ‘Color Crop’ wraps things up beautifully.
