On his latest single for Ninja Tune, FaltyDL reveals himself as an eccentric. Following his more experimental 2014 album In The Wild for the label, Rich Prick Poor Dick sees the Brooklyn-based producer switch back to club music contexts, but you can be sure they're not your conventional ones. The single crescendos to a mad trance number of a frantic 147 bpm, getting dangerously close to hypertension. The untamed percussion is of stroboscopic intensity, which only the organic flow of ‘Bookaloo’ then manages to contain – thanks to its deep sub-bass and machine-music melodies.
