Experimental R’n’B duo 18+ and their London label home Houndstooth have lined up an enticing cast of producers for the They Remixes EP. Taken from their 2014 debut album Trust, the tracks are reworked by Boxed father Mr. Mitch, trap producer / Yung Lean affiliate Suicideyear and Portuguese collective Tia Maria Produções. Mr. Mitch condenses the spacious ’Nectar’ with thick layers of string and low-frequency keyboard sounds, and creates tension by cleverly accentuating his snares on his ‘Lights Off Remix’. Suicideyear on the contrary adds light synth work to ‘Cake’, underlining the original’s effortlessness. The EP closes with a cover by Puerto Rican artist Audri Nix who provides original Spanish lyrics over the beat of ‘Crow’.
