Discrepant issue a self-titled album from the ludicrously named Johnny Kafta Anti-Vegetarian Orchestra. Johnny Kafta Anti-Vegetarian Orchestra formed out of a collaboration between two Lebanese groups, punk band Scrambled Eggs and free/improvisational jazz collective “A” Trio. On paper those two groups don’t sound like they’d mix that well together, but here they produce a sound that’s part-punk, part-krautrock, part-free jazz, and part-post rock. The tracks on this album are all very, very long and build to explosive finales.
