Swedish dream pop duo Death and Vanilla draw on psych pop, library music, ‘60s soundtracks, krautrock, and Radiophonic electronics on their second album, To Where The Wild Things Are. Warm, dusty, and slightly broken-sounding, the album offsets moments of tweeness with somewhat darker ideas. It’s a kaleidoscopic listen which shares spiritual (if not necessarily musical) similarities to Mazzy Star, Stereolab, and Broadcast.
