Pennsylvania trio Pittsburgh Track Authority land on London-based deep house label Freerange following their full-length debut on their own imprint in 2014 and various 12’' efforts for imprints such as Work Them, Seattle’s Further Records and Uzuri. Elastic, yet poignant keys and pithy kicks lead the way on the opening title track before the elated pattern gets taken over by string-style synths. ‘Rt. 28’ layers a detailed rhythm over warm Fender Rhodes chords and toned-down bass notes. The elevated spirits reoccur in the shape of pan flute melodies and a shimmering bass sequence on ‘Gold Trim’, its percussion derived from natural drum kit sounds.
