After his guest appearance on Drvg Cvltvre’s ‘Acid Flash’, Bournemouth-based producer Chris Moss Acid makes his proper debut on Dutch label Shipwrec. Phantacy shows him as well-versed as we know him from his releases on Jamal Moss’ Mathematics Recordings, 030303 and his own Boxfade Records, creating acid house with added value. The title track builds up its intense drum machines to a dense and richly textured wall of sound, the overdriven bass drums propelling things forward. ‘Let Me Feel It’ banks on the skewed 303 patterns more explicitly. They eventually take over the floating synths of ‘The Grin’ as well, while ‘Acid Tronic's’ weirdness stands out owing to its dominating bass theme, fast-paced nature and eerily dissonant layers.
