Shiva presents this romantically-driven debut for Alpha Pup Records. Melding the sounds of new-wave trap, ambient and more straightforward pop sensibilities- there are both meditative and uplifting qualities to The Art Of Allowing. Reception could easily slot into an early FKA twigs release- rattling snares, choral vocal patterns and starry-eyed synths. Cuts like Ocean's Lullaby exercise a more plaintive and still soundscape with tides brushing in and out of earshot. The titular closer is a 10 minute opus, rich with atmospherics and brooding synths. A measured and effective debut from Shiva.
